Christmas in the fairy tale

Stockholm has an especial place among all other world capitals. Snowy winter makes the capital of Sweden an incredibly fabulous town. Stockholm older part looks great all the time, but in winter it becomes incredibly charming. You will be surprised with its look and with the market located there.

Turn into a baker

Skansen can be found among the most remarkable sites of Swedish capital. It is a very large open-air museum founded in 1891. You could find all types of Swedish architecture there. One more cool thing is that you can get inside of most of the old buildings. The most interesting events start in the evening of December, 24.

In December, for example, they hold a great Christmas market in Skansen. If you have a desire to feel the winter spirit in Stockholm – come here. You don’t need to buy anything if you don’t want to. You could try to bake a fresh bread instead. Looks challenging, doesn’t it?

Christmas market in Skansen traditionally gathers thousands of tourists. Therefore you should be ready for a lot of people and be patient.

Shopping for non-shoppers

Stureplan square is an exciting touristic site with fabulous local market. People love walking around and watching cool things. It’s really a great plan to go to to Stureplan on Christmas Eve. One will hardly find such a place with such a Scandinavian atmosphere in any other place of the planet.

If you are exhausted of shopping – check out a great skate-rink located not far from the market. Foreign guests like that ice-skating spot and regularly go there. So if you want to meet new people it’s going to be an ideal place for that.

Family fare

Undoubtedly, museums of Stockholm are a great leisure solution for both adults and children. But there are also places created for parents and kids. Stockholm circus would be a great choice. Every show there is good for spending time with family. Don’t worry, your kids will not be dissatisfied! Family leisure should be spent in great places like Stockholm circus.

Ferry trips are exciting too. They start near the Opera building and pass the small islands. But please remember that windy weather is not good for water tours. There are warm and thick buck skins on a ferry for the people who are cold. But if the weather is still and it doesn’t snow you will see really memorable views of winter Stockholm.

Have fun in Stockholm!

Stockholm has a small daylight in winter and sometimes the weather is just unbearable. Even if it’s 0C outside a keen Swedish wind can make it feel like -15C or even worse. Then it’s recommended to look for some indoor activity.

Young travelers often recommend visiting local escape rooms emphasizing their tremendous design and plot. You can visit Questrooms, Exit Games and other sites like that. There are several dozens of escape rooms here in Stockholm!

The National Museum and the Royal Opera are great options for an afternoon occupation. The bars in Stockholm are awesome and as a tourist just must see them. The greatest place for night hanging out is the old town. Stockholm clubs and bars look nearly the same like in the rest of European countries. Swedish beer is very tasty and is definitely worth trying regardless of the price. Stockholm nightlife is really hectic. City center is full of awesome nightclubs, pubs and bars. You will find a nice bar or club very soon.

Picturesque view of the capital

The Sports Center in Stockholm has the shape of a large globe. Actually, it’s the biggest ball in the world. This building has another attraction besides its shape – there is an outstanding sightseeing desk there. The revolving deck moves around the Center and gets to the height of 130 meters! Entire Stockholm will be seen in plain sight.

Don’t hesitate and choose Stockholm as your Christmas holidays destination!
