Stockholm is a capital which cannot be compared to others. Winter Stockholm resembles a piece belonging to some fantasy reality. Stockholm Old Town looks perfect all the time, however in winter it becomes incredibly charming. It has its own inimitable atmosphere with its market, handmade souvenirs, delicious chestnuts and glogg.
Become a baker
There is a worldwide known place in Stockholm called Skansen. It is a very big open-air museum founded long ago in 1891. All kinds of local architecture can be found here. What is more, some old buildings still work! Bakeries, schools, post offices and forging shops are the most charming in the last evening before Christmas when everyone can enter them and take part in funny competitions.
It the second half of December they hold a great Christmas market in Skansen. All tourists who would like to know what “Stockholm tourism” is like should definitely visit it. In case if you are not a shopping fan you can, for example, try baking bread using the 19th century equipment. Looks quite challenging, doesn’t it?
Hunders of people come to the market in Skansen every day. Please, have patience and don’t avoid crowd and queues and you will feel the festive spirit.
Shopping for non-shoppers
Stureplan square in Stockholm will attract you even if you are a convinced non-shopper. People say that the whole pleasure is related not to the things you buy but to the shopping itself. Stureplan cannot be ignored in your Christmas holidays. There is no other attraction in the whole world which preserves this Scandinavian ambience.
After shopping you could go for ice-skating and have a great fun with your friends. The rink visitors are typically foreign travelers. It makes the rink a perfect place for meeting new people.
Family fare
Tourists of all ages will like the museums of the Swedish capital. However, you can find some “family attractions”. For instance, you can go with your children to Stockholm circus. Great performers will prepare something really amusing. Your kids will have so much fun! Stockholm circus is a brilliant attraction for any family tour.
There are also tours on ferry. They start the tour near the Opera building and go through the group of small islands. But please don’t forget that windy weather is not good for water tours. You will find thick and warm buck skins on board for those who are cold. You can delight your eyes with incomparable views from the deck if it is not snowy.

Sweden is a country on the North and from time to time its weather gets really tough. Even if it’s 0C outside a biting local wind can make it feel like it’s -15C at least. Wind is a great obstacle which can make you give up and choose some indoor activity.

Swedish bars and clubs look nearly the same like in the rest of Europe. The capital of Sweden is a rather expensive city, but you just must taste the local beer brands. Stockholm nightlife is really stormy. All you need to do is to go out and go along the streets. It’s not a big deal to find a nice place to stay.

Globe-shaped Sports Center is another attraction of Stockholm. There is no other ball in the world larger than that. It makes it a very interesting place to visit especially because it has an outstanding viewing point. The platform revolves around the Center and rises up to 130 meters! The Stockholm view from there is really breathtaking.
